XL-Galan is considered one of the world's best track & field galas and takes place on 23 February - a sporting highlight awaits.

The women's high jump will be one of the highlights at this year's gala. The Swedish superstars Ebba Jungmark (3rd at the European Championship indoors 2011) and Emma Green Tregaro (2nd at the European Championship 2010) both jumped 1,95 at the Swedish Championship last Sunday. They will be meeting tough competition from last year's World Championship winner and this winter's great leader Russian Anna Chicherova and the reigning Olympic Champion Tia Hellebaut, Belgium.
At 60 m hurdles a unique duel between the two fastest ever in this discipline; Dayron Robles from Cuba and Liu Xiang, China. The two have dominated since the 2000's. Xiang won the Olympic gold in 2004, Robles won at the Olympic games in 2008.
Jelena Isinbajeva, Russia is the best female pole vaulter ever, with two Olympic gold medals and holder of the world records both indoors and outdoors. At XL-galan she will be challenged by 20-year-old British rising star Holly Bleasdale.
18-year-old Kirani James from Grenada, became the youngest world champion ever at 400 meters and is on his way of becoming an international superstar. At XL-galan James will meet the reigning indoors world champion Chris Brown, The Bahamas, and Johan Wissman who have won at 400 m at the European Championship indoors.
Other interesting competitors:
- Moa Hjelmer, chasing to beat the 26-year-old Swedish record 52,40 at 400 m
- Michel Tornéus who is ready to defend his long jump win of last year's XL-gala
- Johan Walldén, Josefin Msagnusson and Adil Bouafif, who all want to qualify for the World Championship indoors.
Over the years as many as 11 world records and 33 Swedish records have been noted in this high-class competition!

The gala starts at 19.25 and runs until approximately 21.45. Event programme:
- Men: 400 m, 800 m, 1 500 m, 3 000 m, 60 m Hurdles and Long Jump.
- Women: 60 m, 400 m, 1 500 m, High Jump, Pole Vault and Triple Jump.
- Relay 4x200 m for boys and girls aged 13.
